  • Spectricular

    “Spectricular,” 24″ x48,” acrylic on canvas, 2008, $1,600.
A charcoal drawing was the basis for this nod to R.O.Y.G.B.I.V. I experienced a moment of grace. I literally drew it in a minute, inspired by a realization that everything is a lesson in this life; an opportunity to recognize. It is a humbling [...]

  • my boy!

    “my boy!” Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas , 12″ x16,” 2008 .
Well, I sat down at ten tonight and got to work. I wanted to try again. This time I used a projector to get his form instead of sketching like I did yesterday. WHat [...]

  • Quick study of Eli

Study of Eli, 8″ x 10,” acrylic on pressed board, 2008.
I’ve been having a really fun time with my new interactive acrylics set.  I decided to do a few studies of my kids.  I think I’ll help myself out next time by starting with  a better sketch.  It makes all the difference to see the [...]

  • Flutterface

    “Flutterface,” 8″ x10,”  acrylic on paper, 2008, $15.
I’ve saved this butterfly sticker since I was in grade school.  I drew these faces at the same time; the pencils kissed.  Its a bright rainbow token of love n’ light.

  • G’s little pyramid

    “G’s little pyramid,” 16″ x 20,”  acrylic on canvas, 2007,  $77.
This is an adam’s apple pyramid scheme.  Its about rapid marketing and reproducing sites.  God makes the symbolism, and we just turn it around in our hands, and come up with life aplenty.   The geometry meets in the middle of the mirrored images.  This revolving [...]

  • Flowering

    “Flowering,” 16″ x 20,” Mixed Media on Canvas,  2007,  $133.
This is a symmetry exercise.  The body is always opening.  The figure begins and acts from the center.  I should try a drawing with a cross action between both hands and see what happens.

  • “meditation’ll swindle”

“Meditational Swindle” acrylic and conte on masonite 2007 NFS
This is an exercise in symmetry. I find it very engaging and relaxing to begin a painting by drawing with two hands. I became very engaged in bringing multiple focus planes together. I think the overall feeling is [...]

  • Spector Reflector

    “Spector Reflector” 12″x19 1/2″ acrylic on masonite 2008 $70.00
This is a concept I’ve been paint/dreaming about for a long time. As a kidk, I used to think I could see the salt molecules, or cells floating over my eyes. Solar glares are eye candy [...]

  • Lamp Of Knowledge

“The weight and balance of the lamp’s handle,” 8X10, Acrylic on canvas, 2008, $77.00
Whew.  I started this yesterday.  Its 2:22 a.m. now.  Its like dancing on the canvas to draw the figure moving.  This was a slow dance.

  • Disney hair direction

In this exercise, I put fixed form into motion. I began by copying forms from all the Disney princesses’ up-dos. I guess I felt like brushing mindlessly for a while. The layered mass of lines bend sofltly and fall around the picture plane like we’re lookikng at the “crown” of a compiled [...]

  • Airhead

This is a mixed media painted collage.  I created everything but the eyes.  Art lover, look!  These eyes are so dreamy, you’ll appreciate “the sense of being stared at.”  Dewey iridescence bedazzles the antique copper and onyx ground.  Eyelashes bat in wings of birds as they fly around a cosmic doughnut.
    “Airhead”         [...]
