Big thanks to Gina and Vern for coming out to set up, sell our wares, catch flying paintings, and sweat it out like an art-indian sweat lodge yesterday! First Fridays in Downtown Phoenix is happening. We’ve decided to stay for the next several months. People would inquire about a certain painting. I got the feeling that if they saw it again next month, it would go home with them. The highlight of my night was when a group of friends swarmed in to laugh at my Indian Princess Unicorn painting. They were smitten from the start, but needed to pool their money to afford the $30 price tag. They came up with $25, and so I pulled the little hemp bow that was holding it’s nice frame on my bedframe walls, and said, “Be Blessed. You may never have seen this again in your lifetime!”

They invited us to their Sweet Comedy for Sweet Charity event For Friday August 15th at 8:00 p.m. Located at the Sets in lovely Tempe on the SE corner of Southern and Mill. They told me they would send pictures while they travel the comedy circuit with their new good luck charm.

Stay tuned for outdoor walking art events like this one in the coming months, and thanks for watching. The arrows below are pointing to the unicorn princess, and my string theory, respectively.

Dear C. Leo, I’m selling your art, and making some adjustments. I found it at the thriftstore in Cooliage, Arizona. 10 for 15! It has such a clean finish and heavy make, I could hardly believe my eyes. The only markings on the whole stacked set is a price tag on one for $250.00, and the initials C. Leo written in paint on the front. Your sauder splats are so fluid. The muted metallics and stained wood frames make this the first time I have felt remorse over taking over someone’s art. I appreciated your signature like the perfect paint stroke, done over and over again. I don’t know how I’ll mask your name in the stars of the gallaxy paintings I’ll sell this Friday night. 7.23.08

I heard that if you slowed a cricket’s sound down, it sounds like a choir singing. This is an amorphous cloud I was flying through the other day. In a minute you can see the crickets down below. Have a dreamy day!

“A Portrait of Mr. Green,” Mixed media on canvas, 24 x 40,” 2008. $333.
It took me three days to do this portrait. It was nice to watch his kind face change through layers of acrylic, oil, and wax medium. I was playing a game with myself, trying to name actors whose features bear resemblance.
